H2 Trainers

H2 trainers work to our strict quality standards and are selected for their:

  • Training ability, including facilitation and presentation skills
  • Enthusiasm for, and know ledge of the topic
  • Personal experience in the subject (that others can relate to)
  • Empathy and sensitivity to others
  • Authenticity and genuinely shared values.

H2 requires all its trainers to have membership of the IfL (Institute for Learning) - the professional body set up in 2002 for teachers, trainers, and tutors in the further education and skills sector. As with other professional bodies, those registered with the institute must adhere to a Code of Professional Practice, which is supported by a set of disciplinary procedures (currently under development).

Training Formats

We offer the following training formats to suit your particular needs:

Open Courses
Scheduled public courses held in accessible London venues, ideal if you don't have enough need or interest for an in-house course, but nevertheless would like one or more individuals to benefit from timely training. Competitive all-inclusive pricing, plus certification and follow-up on request.
In-house Courses
Off-the-shelf private courses held in a venue of your choice, providing cost-effective training for companies/organisations with more than one or two people requiring training in key effectiveness areas.
Bespoke Courses
Tailored private courses held in a venue of your choice - we design your course programme to reflect specified priorities, including exercises based on real-life case studies/scenarios - ensuring that the course stays focused on the issues that are most important to you and your delegates.
One-to-One Training
Totally focused, intensive training - a popular alternative to our open courses, providing the undivided attention of one of our experienced trainers to address individual needs/interests.

Training Methods and Style

We recognise that people learn and respond to training in different ways. We therefore aim to strike a balance between presenting essential background information, and facilitating participative exercises that are both challenging and motivating, and that enable real experiential learning to take place.

We design all our courses to maximise real learning that can be transferred directly to the workplace. Our training has become well-known for:

  • enabling learning through the exchange of experiences and ideas
  • facilitating motivating practical exercises to consolidate learning
  • presenting key ideas in a straightforward and memorable way
  • providing high-quality written support materials to take away
  • offering follow-up support to clarify any learning points after the course has ended
  • offering certificates of attendance on completion of any course.

Our training style is relatively informal, but always appropriate to the subject matter and to the situation. We believe that whilst personal effectiveness can be understood on an intellectual level, learning that brings about the desired changes requires a supportive and enabling environment. We therefore encourage delegates to explore their own behaviour, attitudes and potential during our courses, and to take risks and to learn from their 'mistakes'.

Feedback from previous course delegates consistently indicates that the H2 style is well regarded, and effectively facilitates learning and development by responding to the needs of the individual.

Certification

On request, we provide personal certificates for any delegates wishing to compile a portfolio of on-going training and development.

Evaluation

We offer delegates the opportunity to give feedback on all elements of our courses, which helps us to ensure that our training is adapted to suit the changing needs of our customers. We also promise to respond personally to any specific points or suggestions, if requested.
