Course Overview

In an increasingly competitive world, the development of on-going customer relationships and an effective sales function is key to any successful organisation. Whether or not you are directly involved in sales as a salesperson, knowing how to sell is an incredibly useful skill. Effective selling needs a specific set of personal skills to be successful - whatever it is that you’re trying to sell. Customer loyalty is responsible for most sales as well as the long term profitability of any business, so unless the selling process is customer focused, it is likely that the sale will be lost and the relationship will break down.

This comprehensive course introduces a range of traditional (influence-based) and modern (facilitative and consultative based) selling techniques and prepares the delegates for a variety of sales environments. It will demystify the process and the underlying core skills of effective selling and will give participants the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to become effective sales negotiators, both in face-to-face situations, and over the telephone.

It is particularly recommended for anyone required to sell products or services on behalf of their company, or for anyone wishing to improve their ability to use selling skills and techniques to enhance their role.

Influencing Skills Assessment H2 Assessments & Tests

In addition to the face-to-face element of the training, we also offer an optional assessment, which can be completed as a self-assessment or as a 360 degree appraisal that analyses your personal approach in relation to your current influencing style and skills which are determined to under-pin your ability to negotiate effectively. Whist it is entirely optional, the assessment is extremely useful for enhancing self-awareness and for providing a focus for on-going learning and development. The test is in interactive pdf format and can be completed at any time on your own computer. Once you have completed the test, you simply click on a "submit" button and we will automatically receive your answers for collation into a comprehensive printed report, including some useful suggestions of potential areas for improvement.

One-to-One Training

As an alternative to attending an open course with delegates from other organisations, we also offer "Selling Skills" as individual training on a date of your choice. Feedback from delegates who have had a one-to-one session is extremely positive, as it means that you can have the undivided attention of one of our experienced trainers, and can therefore make sure that the session is entirely focussed on your individual needs/interests.

Our standard one-to-one training includes a flexible combination of face-to-face and telephone sessions. Most popular is a half-day (4 hour) face-to-face session either at your work premises, or at a convenient local venue, plus two one-hour telephone sessions - one before and one after the training. The telephone sessions help us to ensure that the face-to-face training is tailored exactly to your needs and that you are able to put your learning into practice to make real improvements to your performance at work.

The cost is dependent upon the location and duration of the face-to-face session and we offer discounts for two or more sessions. For example, our standard one-to-one training with the face-to-face session in Central London costs £600 +VAT.
